Directly from the vineyards of Spain

Solar de Mendieta stands for Spanish wines with a clear origin and timeless style. Our wines come from our own vineyards in renowned locations in the Rioja and Toro regions, owned by Viñedos y Bodegas Sierra Cantabria .

Shaped by terroir, tradition and craftsmanship, they authentically reflect the identity of their origin and combine elegance, depth and character.

Respect for terroir and winemaking

Our Solar de Mendieta wines are produced in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, one of the most renowned vineyards in Rioja Alavesa. With the utmost care, deep respect for the terroir, and the commitment to producing only wines of unmistakable elegance and quality.

Toro – A legacy of untouched vineyards

Toro is one of the few wine regions in Europe where numerous vines survived the phylloxera epidemic. The sandy, barren soils offered natural protection, so many vines remain ungrafted to this day.

These old vines – some of which are over 130 years old – produce low yields, but grapes of exceptional concentration. Combined with Toro's extreme climate, this results in powerful, profound wines with a distinctive character and remarkable authenticity.
