Variety: 100% Tinta de Toro, ungrafted and pre-phylloxera.
Vineyards: Proprietary vineyards (35 hectares) situated in Valdefiñás, Toro, and Villabuena del Puente. Average age of vines: 45 years to over one 100 years old. Altitude: 750 - 900 m. Environmentally integrated agricultural cultivation.
Elaboration: Traditional method, 100% de-stemmed. Traditional foot pressing three times a day during fermentation with light pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak. The wine is aged for 18 months in new Bordelaise barrels of French oak.
Alcohol content: 14.5% vol.
Tasting notes: Dense purple in color, presenting a great concentration of aromas of black fruit with brandy, spices, and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is well-structured, powerful, very expressive, creamy, rich, and aromatic with smooth tannins.
